- Mark separating point on left rear-end floor (1) and separate (area A).
Dimensions:
A = 40 mm
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on left rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas B2 , C1 , C2 , and C3 ).
- Expose spot welds on left rear-end floor (1) and drill out with a diameter of 6.5 mm (areas B1
, C4
, C5
, C6
, C7
, C8
, and C9
).
Joint spot welds on panels that are arranged one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses (area B2 ).
- Expose spot welds on left rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area D).
- Heat left rear-end floor (1) in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove left rear-end floor (1).
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member (2) and drill through with a diameter of 6.5 mm (areas E).
- Remove longitudinal member (2).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides (area G1 ).
Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on inside (area F).
- Remove grinding dust.
- Apply zinc dust paint to mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas (areas H and F).
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas G1 and G2 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
