The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

- Remove all 6 threaded pins for the mount of the crossmember.
Install new threaded pins.
- Expose spot welds on the rear-end center section (1) and cut out (areas A1 , A2 , A3 , A5 , A6 , A7 , A8 , and A9 ).
- Expose spot welds on the rear-end center section (1) and drill through with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area B1 , B2 , and A4 ).
- Expose spot welds on the rear-end center section (1) and drill through with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area C1
1 and C2
).

- Heat rear-end center section (1) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove rear-end center section (1).

- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Grind off mating surface in the cross-hatched area on the inside (area E).
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. parts kit.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area D1 , D2 , D3 and D4 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- Apply zinc dust paint to the insides of the mating surfaces in the cross-hatched area (area E).
- Grind mating surfaces in the cross-hatched area down to bare metal on the inside.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Apply zinc dust paint to the insides of the mating surfaces in the cross-hatched area parts kit.
