Replace Brake Hoses - AR42.10-P-0013MFA

DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove corresponding wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102MFA
  Front brake hose (1)     
2 Remove rear section of fender liner in left front or right front fender. Model 243 AR88.10-P-1301EQA
    Model 118, 177, 247 AR88.10-P-1301MFA
3 Open mounting clamp (4) and remove front brake hose (1) from mounting clamp (4) and holder (3). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the front brake hose (1) is seated correctly in the mounting clip (4) and holder (3).  
4 Remove front brake hose (1) from front brake line (5) and seal exposed connections with suitable stop plugs. NOTES Seal connections immediately.
Otherwise damage can be caused by escaping brake fluid.
 
    INSTALLATION NOTES : Do not twist front brake hose (1) and make sure that it is routed correctly.
Otherwise, the front brake hose (1) will be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the retaining clamp (6) is seated correctly.
IMPORTANT The expansion reservoir for brake fluid must not run completely empty.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to brake hose *BA42.10-P-1004-04Q 
    SPECIAL TOOL Torque tool set Fig 5
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
5 Remove screw (7), remove front brake hose (1) and seal exposed connections with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES Installation:
Do not twist front brake hose (1) and make sure that it is routed correctly.
 
    Otherwise, the front brake hose (1) will be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace front brake hose (1).
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, brake hose to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1003-10ZA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench Fig 3
  Rear brake hose (8)     
6 Remove rear brake hose (8) from rear brake line (9) and seal exposed connections with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES : Do not twist rear brake hose (8) and make sure that it is routed correctly.
Otherwise, the rear brake hose (8) will be damaged.
NOTES Seal the connections immediately to avoid damage being caused by brake fluid running out. The rear brake caliper (10) must not run empty.
The rear brake caliper (10) must otherwise be replaced.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the retaining clamp (11) is seated correctly.  
    IMPORTANT Collect escaping brake fluid.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to brake hose *BA42.10-P-1004-04Q 
    SPECIAL TOOL Torque tool set Fig 5
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
7 Remove screw (12), remove rear brake hose (8) and seal exposed connections with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES Installation:
Do not twist rear brake hose (8) and make sure that it is routed correctly.
 
    Otherwise the rear brake hose (8) will be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace rear brake hose (8).
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, brake hose to brake caliper (floating brake caliper) *BA42.10-P-1003-12X 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench Fig 3
8 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
9 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-P-0010MFA
