The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating points on A-pillar paneling (1) (areas A and B).

   Transfer separation points from vehicle.

2. Grind mating surfaces at A-pillar paneling (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

3. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.

   Bonding surfaces must not be coated on insides with zinc dust paint (areas C₁ , C₂ and C₃ ).

   Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
