Outer Longitudinal Member Shell On Rocker Panel Prepare For Installation - Ar63.30-P-1102-02MFX

Model 247.6/7 

The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 247.6. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating point on the longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut (area A).

   Transfer separation point from vehicle.

2. Expose spot welds on the longitudinal member outer shell (1) and drill through with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area B).
3. Expose spot welds on the longitudinal member outer shell (1) and drill through with a diameter of 7.0 mm (area C).

4. Grind mating surfaces on longitudinal member outer shell (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

5. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
6. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (D areas).

   Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
