Remove/Install Rain/Light Sensor - AR82.30-P-7801MFA

Notice  Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
2 Unclip cover (1) (arrows) and remove. SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
3 Unclip mirror base cover (4) from mirror base.    
4 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2).    
5 Press retaining clamps (3) and release using a suitable tool.    
6 Carefully detach rain and light sensor with additional function (B38/2) from windshield and remove. NOTES
Do not touch coupling medium of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2). The coupling medium must not be soiled. Otherwise it may be damaged and malfunctions may occur.
 
7 Store rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) in a suitable container. When reusing rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).
NOTES
Do not touch coupling medium of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2). The coupling medium must not be soiled.
Otherwise it may be damaged and malfunctions may occur.
 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Install rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).   AR82.30-P-7802-01ME 
    NOTES
The windshield must be free of residue and dry in the area of the rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).
Otherwise there may be damage and malfunctions.
NOTES
Do not touch coupling medium of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2). The coupling medium must not be soiled. Otherwise it may be damaged and malfunctions may occur.
IMPORTANT If the coupling medium is damaged,

the rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) must be replaced.
 
9 Connect electrical connector (2).    
10 Install mirror base cover (4).    
11 Install cover (1).    
  Initial startup     
12 Perform initial startup of rain/light sensor with additional function (B38/2). When replacing rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) or when replacing windshield.
