WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

  Drain off     
1 Remove cap from engine cooling system expansion reservoir.    
2 Remove bottom engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105MFR
3 Remove expansion rivets (9). SPECIAL TOOL Clip remover Fig 5
4 Remove bolts (7) and remove bumper support (8).    
5 Insert suitable hose into fitting (3) at drain screw (1).    
6 Open drain screw (1), drain coolant and collect in suitable container. NOTES
Open drain screw (1) only until coolant starts to drain off.
Drain screw (1) and cooler high-temperature cooling circuit (2) will otherwise be damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.
 
7 Insert suitable hose into fitting (6) at drain screw (5).    
8 Open drain screw (5), drain coolant and collect in suitable container. NOTES
Only open drain screw (5) to extent that coolant starts to drain off.
Drain screw (5) and cooler medium-temperature circuit (4) will otherwise be damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe regulations for disposal of coolant.
 
9 Remove coolant line at additional cooler on right when viewed in direction of travel and collect escaping coolant with suitable container. IMPORTANT Observe regulations for disposal of coolant. AR20.20-P-3866MFG 
10 Close drain screws (1, 5).    
11 Attach coolant line to additional cooler on right when viewed in direction of travel.   AR20.20-P-3866MFG 
  Pour in     
12 Pour in coolant and bleed engine cooling system.   AR20.00-P-1142-04A

13 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Anticorrosion/antifreeze agents (Sheet 325.0)   BB00.40-P-0325-00A

14 Install bumper support (8).    
15 Screw in bolts (7) of bumper support (8). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, front bumper support to cross strut *BA62.30-P-1011-02O 
16 Install expansion rivets (9) at bumper support (8).    
17 Install lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105MFR
