Spare Tire Well Remove - Ar64.20-P-1245-01MFA

IMPORTANT The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

The following operation steps are shown on model 177.0.

  1. Expose spot welds at spare wheel well (1) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm (areas A1 , A2 , and A3 ).

    IMPORTANT Operation step 2 is shown on the left side of the vehicle. Perform in same manner on right side of vehicle.

  2. Expose spot welds at spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) and cut off (areas C1 , C2 , C3 , C4 , C5 and C6 ).

  3. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (2) and cut off (area B).

  4. Heat rear-end floor (2) in cross-hatched area.

    Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  5. Remove spare wheel well (1) with rear-end floor (2).
  6. Surface-grind mating surface in cross-hatched areas.
  7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  8. Apply zinc dust paint to mating surface in cross-hatched areas.

    onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.

    Shown on model 177.0 

  9. Surface-grind mating surface in cross-hatched areas.
  10. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  11. Apply zinc dust paint to mating surface in cross-hatched areas onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.

  12. Grind mating surface down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  13. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  14. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.

    onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.
