Rear Fender New Preparation - Ar63.50-P-1400-03MFC

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown for the new part on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

IMPORTANT Refer to the superordinate service document for further information.

  1. Mark the separating points on the rear fender (1) (areas A, B and C).

    IMPORTANT Use separating points from vehicle.

    Observe overlap of approx. 5 mm.

  2. Separate the separating points on the rear fender (1) (areas A, B and C).

  3. Drill holes with ø7 mm (area E).
  4. Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind bonding surface (area D) from rear down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  5. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  6. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.

    NOTES Bonding surface (area D) may not be coated with zinc dust paint.

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surface (area D).
