The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install rear longitudinal member (1) with connection, cover (5), and straightener, fit, and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes in the rear longitudinal member (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas A6 and A8 ).
- Drill rivet holes in the rear longitudinal member (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm through existing holes in the body (areas A7 ).
- Drill rivet holes in the cover (5) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas A1 , A2 , A3 , and A4 ).
- Drill rivet holes in the rear longitudinal member (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm through existing holes in the body (areas A5 ).
- Drill rivet holes in the rear longitudinal member (1) with connection (2) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas B1
, B2
, B3
).
- Install, fit, and fix in place the cover (4) and the support for the rear bench seat (6).
- Drill rivet holes in the cover (4) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas C1 , C2 , C3 , C4 , C5 , C6 , C7 , C8 , and C9 ).
- Drill rivet holes in the rear bench seat support (6) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas D1
, D2
, D3
, and D4
).
- Install, fit, and fix in place reinforcement for the rear seat (3).
- Drill rivet holes on the rear seat reinforcement (3) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas E1 , E2 , E3 , E4 , and E5 ).
- Remove rear seat reinforcement (3), rear bench seat mount, cover, rear longitudinal member with connection, and cover.
- Deburr rivet holes on the rear seat reinforcement (3), rear bench seat mount, cover, rear longitudinal member with connection, cover, and on the body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
The interior faces of riveted joints to which the 2-component adhesive is to be applied must not be coated with zinc dust paint.
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to the body in the cross-hatched area (area F1).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to the rear longitudinal member in the cross-hatched area (1) with the connection (2) (area F2).

- Install rear longitudinal member (1) with connection and cover (5) and fix in place.
- Rivet rear longitudinal member (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas G1 and G2 ).
- Rivet cover (5) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas H1
, H2
, H3
, H4
, and H5
).
- Rivet rear longitudinal member (1) with connection (2) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas I1 , I2 and I3 ).
- Apply 2-component adhesive to the rear longitudinal member (1) in the cross-hatched area (area J).
- Install and fix in place the cover (4) and the support for the rear bench seat (6).
- Rivet cover (4) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 12.5 mm (areas K1 , K2 , K3 , K4 , K5 , K6 , K7 , and K8 ).
- Rivet cover (4) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas L1 , L2 , L3 , and L4 ).
- Rivet rear bench seat mount (6) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas M1
, M2
, and M3
).
- Install and fix in place the reinforcement for the rear seat (3).
- Rivet rear seat reinforcement (3) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 mm (areas N1 , N3 , and N4 ).
- Rivet rear seat reinforcement (3) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 12.5 mm (areas N2 and N5 ).
- Reinforcement for the rear seat (3)
(area O).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Install spring mount (1.1), fit with the straightener, and fix in place.
- Drill through rivet holes on spring mount (1.1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas P).
- Remove straightener and spring mount (1.1).
- Deburr rivet holes on spring mount (1.1) and body.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install spring mount (1.1) and fix in place.
- Rivet spring mount (1.1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 12.5 (areas Q1 ).
- Rivet spring mount (1.1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 (areas Q2
).
