The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating points on B-pillar paneling (1) and cut (areas A, B and C).

   

   Transfer separation points from vehicle.

2. Grind mating surfaces on IB-pillar paneling (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

3. Remove shavings and drill chips.
4. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. parts kit.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area E).

   Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

   

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
