The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install B-pillar paneling (1), fit and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes in B-pillar paneling (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (area A).
- Remove B-pillar paneling (1).
- Deburr rivet holes in B-pillar paneling (1) on both sides.
- Remove drilling shavings with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- In the cross-hatched area, apply sealant to B-pillar paneling (1).
The areas (J) may not be coated with sealing compound. Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- In the cross-hatched area, apply sealant to foam part (3).
- Install B-pillar paneling (1), fit and fix in place.
- B-pillar paneling (1)

- Rivet B-pillar paneling (1) using rivets with a diameter of 6.5x12.5 (area C).
- B-pillar paneling (1)
(areas D, E and F).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Face-grind inert gas welds on B-pillar paneling (1) (areas D, E and F).
- Tin-plate the surfaces of the B-pillar paneling (1) in areas D, E and F with body solder or use a basic body filler to spackle and grind off.
- Remove body solder residues and/or grinding dust.
