IMPORTANT

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

DANGER

  1. Install main floor (1), fit, and fix in place.
  2. Drill rivet holes in main floor (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit through the existing holes in the body (areas G1 , G2 and H).
  3. Remove main floor (1).

  4. Deburr drill holes and remove drill chips.
  5. Grind main floor (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas on both sides.
  6. Remove grinding dust.
  7. Coat cross-hatched surfaces of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES The insides of the riveted joints, to which the 2-component adhesive is applied, may not be coated with zinc dust paint (area J).

    Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

  8. Install main floor (1) and fix in place.
  9. Rivet main floor (1) with Ø 6.5x14.5 mm rivets (areas K1 and K2 ).

  10. Install strut (7) and fix in place.
  11. Drill rivet holes in main floor (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit through the existing holes in the body (areas I1 , I2 and I3 ).
  12. Remove strut (7).
  13. Deburr drill holes and remove drill chips.
  14. Coat drill holes on both sides with zinc dust paint (area I1 , I2 and I3 ).

  15. Grind strut (7) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched area on both sides.
  16. Coat cross-hatched surfaces of weld joint with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES The insides of the weld joint, to which the 2-component adhesive is applied, must not be coated with zinc dust paint.

    Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

  17. Apply 2-component adhesive in the cross-hatched area of the strut (7) (area K).

    IMPORTANT

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  18. Install strut (7).
  19. Rivet strut (7) with Ø 6.5x14.5 mm rivets (areas N).

  20. Strut (7) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas M).

  21. Main floor (1) in the cross-hatched area SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area P1 and P2 ).

    IMPORTANT

    Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  23. Clean weld seam.
