Pressing Tapered Roller Bearing Off And On Rear Axle Shaft - AR35.30-P-7351-01B

MODEL 463 (except 463.270/271) up to model year 2013 

With disk brakes at the rear axle 

MODEL 461 

With disk brakes at the rear axle

Pressing off tapered roller bearing 

  1. Slide in assembly plate SPECIAL TOOL between bearing cap and rear axle shaft.

  2. Insert rear axle shaft with assembly plate SPECIAL TOOL into press.
  3. Press bearing cap with radial sealing ring and tapered roller bearing off the rear axle shaft.

  4. Fit circlip on axle shaft.

    NOTES Replace retaining ring, the flat side must point towards the slotted nut. The circlip is fitted in order to ensure that, when pressing-on, pressure is applied to the bearing inner race only.

    The anti-twist lock on the circlip must be aligned with the milled section of the axle shaft, otherwise the axle shaft will be damaged.

  5. Guide rear axle shaft through bore in assembly SPECIAL TOOL plate
  6. Insert rear axle shaft along with assembly plate SPECIAL TOOL into press.
  7. Press tapered roller bearing onto rear axle shaft as far as the stop.

    NOTES The bearing outer race must be rotated during the pressing-on procedure.

    To avoid damage to the bearing.
