REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Fully extend steering wheel    
2 Detach ground line from battery Model 463 (except 463.234/236/241/242/248) as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 AR54.10-P-0003GW

with code 979 (Special protection MB Guard)
with code E26 (Auxiliary battery)
with code ZS6 (Special protection version FB6)

3 Use suitable tool to push springs (1) inwards INSTALLATION NOTES The springs (1) must latch audibly into place in the driver airbag (2).
Otherwise, the airbag may work loose from the steering wheel.
 
4 Lift driver airbag (2) off steering wheel    
5 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3)    
6 Remove driver airbag (2)    
7 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
8 Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic vehicle diagnosis system When replacing the driver airbag (2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Model 463 as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
