Function requirements, general 

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 over chassis CAN 1 to the Supplemental Restraint System control unit.

IMPORTANT After circuit 15R is switched off, parts of the supplemental restraint system remain active for a certain run-on time.

IMPORTANT Power reserve: The Supplemental Restraint System control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.

Supplemental restraint system, general information 

The Supplemental Restraint System is used for occupant protection.

IMPORTANT Belt lock: The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the Supplemental Restraint System. The following functions are described in separate documents:
