1. Turn engine with a socket at center bolt (13) in direction of engine rotation, until the bore (15) on belt pulley/vibration damper (12) is aligned with the housing bore (11).
2. Check position of the camshaft through the openings of the position sensors of the camshafts based on the alignment edges (5a, 6a).
3. Mark of bore (15) on the belt pulley (12) with drift (2).

Do not turn engine against direction of engine rotation.

Otherwise, the timing chain skips.

If the alignment edges (5a, 6a) stand as represented, then engine stands at 40° after ignition TDC of cylinder 1.

If the alignment edges (5a, 6a) stand as represented, then engine stands at 40° after overlap TDC of cylinder 1.

A complete crankshaft revolution (360°) lies between 40° after 1st cylinder TDC and 40° after 1st cylinder TDC at valve overlap.
