Attach dial indicator holder (02) to the crankcase.
Insert dial indicator (01) into the dial indicator holder (02) and set a preload of at least 3 mm.
Align measuring tip of dial indicator (01) at right angle to crankshaft flange.
Press on crankshaft (1) in an axial direction to one side up to the attachment and hold.
Set dial indicator scale to zero.
Press on crankshaft (1) in an opposite axial direction to one side up to the attachment and hold.
Read off measurement value of the dial indicator (01) and compare with the specified value.
The measurement value obtained corresponds to the crankshaft end play (1).
