Remove/Install Right Low-Pressure Fuel Line - AR07.03-P-1132XGC

Engine 177 in model 463

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Disconnect the ground line for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003XG
2 Pull low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir upward out of the elastomer bearings and place to one side with the connected coolant lines.   AR09.41-P-0001XGC
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Do not install the upper engine cover until an engine test run has been performed.  
3 Remove fuel pressure via the service connection.   AR07.03-P-1460-01XGC 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Dust protection cap to service connection *BA07.03-P-1005-01H 
    SPECIAL TOOL Pressure hose Fig 3
4 Remove bracket of the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10).   AR07.08-P-7016XGC 
5 Remove right air filter housing.   AR09.10-P-1152XGC
6 Remove noise insulations (8).    
7 Remove bleed line (4) from right cylinder head cover. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seal.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger *BA01.20-P-1001-01J 
8 Remove engine cable duct (6) from bracket (5) and remove right cylinder head cover. TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6 X 1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine wiring harness to cylinder head cover *BA15.18-P-1001-01G 
9 Remove noise insulation (1).    
10 Clean area around the low-pressure line (7). Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
11 Remove low-pressure line (7) from the fuel high-pressure pump (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, fuel line to fuel distributor/fuel system high-pressure pump *BA07.03-P-1001-01H 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 2
12 Remove brackets of the low-pressure line (7) from the cylinder head cover. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket *BA07.03-P-1004-01H 
13 Open clamp on hose (3). INSTALLATION NOTES :
After opening the clamp, always install new hose (3) with clamps.
Leaks can occur otherwise.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Clamping pliers
 
14 Remove low-pressure line (7) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
15 Check low-pressure line (7) for damage.   AR07.03-P-1120-01MNE 
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
16 Remove brackets of the low-pressure line (7). When installing new low-pressure line (7).  
17 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
18 Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
19 Install upper engine cover.   AR01.10-P-2405XGC
