Remove/Install Left High-Pressure Fuel Pump - AR07.02-P-1023XGA

Engine 176 in model 463 

as of model year 2019

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove left high-pressure line   AR07.03-P-1001XGA 
2 Remove left low-pressure line from the cylinder head cover and fuel high-pressure pump (3) and place to one side   AR07.03-P-1121XGA 
3 Remove coolant hose (1) from the engine lifting lug (4) and place to one side    
4 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2)    
5 Clean area around fuel high-pressure pump (3) NOTES
Thoroughly clean area around fuel high- pressure pump (3) at points to be separated. Failure can occur otherwise to the fuel system.
 
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
6 Remove screws (5) and remove fuel high- pressure pump (3) upward NOTES
Remove and screw in screws (5) alternately by half a revolution in each case.
Otherwise, the fuel high-pressure pump (3) will be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seal.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fuel system high pressure pump to cylinder head *BA07.02-P-1001-01E 
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Read out and erase fault memory    
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
9 Check fuel high-pressure circuit for leaktightness   AR07.03-P-1010-04MM 
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leaktightness
