	Remove/install
	Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
1	Remove rear wheels
		Model 460, 461 with drum brakes on the rear axle Model 463 up to model year 2019 with drum brakes on the rear axle	AP40.10-P-4050G
2	Remove retaining bolt (122)	Replace safety screw (122).
		Model 460, 461 with drum brakes on the rear axle Safety screw, brake drum to wheel hub	BA42.10-P-1001-16A
3	Release parking brake and detach brake drum (119)	Model 461 with drum brakes on the rear axle	AR42.10-P-0169-01GG
		If the brake drum (119) cannot be pulled off, detach the brake shoes (92) by turning back the automatic brake adjuster: ↓ Adjust automatic brake adjuster.

4	Check brake drum (119) for wear	Model 460, 461 with drum brakes on the rear axle Brake drum Ø	*BE42.10-P-1002-12A
5	Unhook upper retracting springs (116)	Make sure that the upper retracting springs (116) are seated correctly.

6	Unhook lower retracting spring (124)	Ensure that the lower return spring (124) is correctly seated.

7	Extract push rod (107) with spring (110) and spring seat (113)	Make sure that the push rod (107), compression spring (110) and spring cup (113) are seated correctly.
8	Remove pressure springs (117)	Model 460, 461 with Drum brakes on the rear axle Mounting tool	Fig 2
9	Remove brake shoes (92)	Install the rear brake shoe (92) first. Before installing the upper retracting spring (116) for the front brake shoe (92), insert the push rod (107), compression spring (110) and spring cup (113).

10	Check brake shoes (92) for wear	Model 460, 461, 463 with drum brakes on the rear axle Brake lining thickness	*BE42.10-P-1003-12A
11	Unhook parking brake cable (41) from parking brake lever (92a)
12	Check the condition and operation of the automatic adjuster		AR42.10-P-0169GG
		Install a new automatic brake adjuster if necessary: ↓ Remove/install the automatic adjuster.
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Adjust automatic brake adjuster	Model 460, 461, 463 with drum brakes on the rear axle	AR42.10-P-0169-01GG

	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
15	Push down brake pedal several times	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
16	Apply brake 5 times when driving forwards and reversing.	As only the rear brake shoes adjust when braking while driving forwards, also brake hard several times so that the front brake shoes also adjust.

17	Check adjustment of parking brake, adjust if necessary	Model 460, 461 with drum brakes on the rear axle Model 463 (except 463.270/271) up to model year 2013 with drum brakes on the rear axle	AR42.20-P-0540GG
