Four channel system with 3/3-way valves up to 8.93
For control at the front axle, one 3/3-way valve and for the rear axle two 3/3-way valves are used per wheel for building up, holding and releasing pressure.
Three-channel system with 3/3-way valves as of 9.93
For control at the front axle, one 3/3-way valve is used per wheel for building up, holding and releasing pressure. For control at the rear axle, one 3/3-way valve is used for building up, holding and releasing pressure.
Three channel system in models 463.308/330/331 with 2/2-way valves
For control at the front axle, three 2/2-way valves are used on each wheel for building up, holding and releasing pressure, respectively. At the rear axle, three 2/2-way valves are used for building up, holding and releasing pressure, respectively.
The return pump (m1) integrated in the hydraulic unit (A7/3) is used to return the brake fluid during the pressure reduction phase. An increase in pressure compared to the pressure controlled by the brake master cylinder is not possible during the ABS control phase.
A muffler (10) is fitted for each brake circuit to reduce delivery noise. During the ABS pressure reduction phase the fluid flows back to the return pumps via the low-pressure accumulators (11).
