Function requirements, general
- The Supplemental Restraint System must be programmed to the vehicle (left or right-hand drive vehicle, equipment programming and configuration parameters)
- Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 over chassis CAN 1 to the Supplemental Restraint System control unit.
After circuit 15R is switched off, parts of the supplemental restraint system remain active for a certain run-on time.
Power reserve: The Supplemental Restraint System control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.
Supplemental restraint system, general information
The Supplemental Restraint System is used for occupant protection.
Belt lock: The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the Supplemental Restraint System. The following functions are described in separate documents:
