Location

The telephone control unit is installed in area of the A-pillar in the front passenger footwell.

Tasks

The telephone control unit has the following tasks:

Reception of the switch-on signal (wake-up) from the head unit (A26/17)
Communication with the head unit over the wireless local area network (WLAN) and the Wifi antenna (A2/83)
Communication with the head unit via the telematics CAN (CAN A) (status of the subscriber identification module (SIM) card)
Communication with a mobile phone via Bluetooth®
Communication with the mobile phone network via the telephone antenna splitter (A2/109), the left telephone antenna (A2/102) and the right telephone antenna (A2/103)
If the telephone control unit is selected as a WiFi hotspot:
- Provision of Internet connection for external devices
