Location
The TV tuner control unit is located at the right in the toolbox in the trunk.

Receive signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
MOST
The TV tuner control unit is a MOST participant and communicates over this with the head unit (A26/17).
Direct lines
The TV tuner control unit receives the following signals via direct lines:
- Power supply over circuit 31 and circuit 30T
- Electronic wake-up for MOST
- TV-1 signals from right rear side window pane antenna (A2/170) over the TV 1 antenna amplifier (A94/5)
- TV-2 signals from right rear side window pane antenna over the FM 2, DAB 2, TV 2 antenna amplifier (A2/108)
- TV-3 signals from left rear side window pane antenna (A2/169) over the TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/7)
Processing signals
- The TV tuner control unit decodes and demodulates the TV signals and separates them into video and audio signals.
Transmitting signals
The initial parameters are transmitted over the following connections:
- MOST
- Direct lines
MOST
The TV tuner control unit is a MOST participant and communicates over this with the head unit. The audio signals are sent to the head unit and to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code EU8 (Burmester 3D surround sound system)).
Direct lines
The TV tuner control unit sends the following signals over direct lines:
- Supply voltage to TV 1 antenna amplifier
- Supply voltage to FM 2, DAB 2, TV 2 antenna amplifier
- Supply voltage to TV 3 antenna amplifier
- Video signals over a high speed video link (HSVL) line to the head unit
Structure
On vehicles except code ZJ1 (Version for Japan), the TV tuner control unit is equipped with a Common Interface Plus (CI+) slot. A CI+ module is inserted into this CI+ slot. The CI+ slot is equipped with a cover.
