The following operation steps are shown on the left new part and must be carried out analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

1. Scribe hole for ground bolt on firewall paneling (1) (area A).

   Use installation position from removal.

2. Drill hole 8 mm in diameter for ground bolt in firewall paneling (1) (area A).

3. Drill holes 7 mm in diameter on hood hinge bracket (2) (area B).

   Do not damage underlying firewall paneling (1).

4. Grind mating surfaces on firewall paneling (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
5. Grind cross-hatched areas on hood hinge bracket (2) down to bare metal around the holes.
6. Hood hinge bracket (2) on firewall paneling (1) (area B).
7. Hood hinge bracket (2) on firewall paneling (1) (areas C, D, E and F).
8. Clean weld joints.

9. Scribe separation lines on firewall paneling (1) (areas G and H).

   Transfer separation lines from the vehicle (areas G and H).

10. Separate firewall paneling (1) at separating points using body saw (areas G and H).
11. Remove sections from firewall paneling (1).
12. Grind mating surfaces on firewall paneling (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
