Remove Windshield CROSSMEMBER - Ar62.25-P-1120-01XG

Model 463 

as of model year 2019 

IMPORTANT The higher-level service information as well as the safety information must be observed.

  1. Expose spot welds in paneling (1) and cut out (A areas).
  2. Expose rivets in paneling (1) and drill off with Ø 6.5 mm (B areas).

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps, 3 to 8, are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  3. Heat paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  4. Remove paneling (1).

  5. Expose spot welds in reinforcement (3) and cut off (C and D areas).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  6. Remove reinforcement (3).
  7. Expose spot welds in reinforcement (4) and cut off (D areas).
  8. Remove reinforcement (4).

  9. Expose spot welds in crossmember (2) and cut off (E areas).
  10. Remove crossmember (2).

  11. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  12. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  13. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (F, G areas).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps, 14 to 16, are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  14. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  15. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  16. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
