- Grind mating surfaces on paneling (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
The following operation steps, 4 and 5, are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on paneling (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
The following operation steps, 6 to 8, are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on reinforcement (3) down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
The following operation steps, 9 to 11, are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces at reinforcement (4) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Grind mating surfaces on crossmember (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
