Remove/Install Steering Column Module - AR54.25-P-2802GW

as of Model year 2013 up to Model year 2019 /Facelift 2012

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
  Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A 
1 Remove steering wheel Remove/install steering wheel AR46.10-P-0100GW
2 Pry off cover (4) from steering column tube module control unit (N80) IMPORTANT Pry off frame of cover (4) from steering column tube module control unit (N80) at catches using long wedge.

3 Remove steering column tube module control unit (N80) from steering column tube NOTES
Do not operate red safety catches in steering column tube module control unit (N80).
Otherwise irreparable damage will be caused to the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT If the steering column tube module control unit (N80) is in the correct installation position, the assembly display (3) is retracted.
When installing a new steering column tube module control unit (N80), the transport protection (2) must be broken off after installation.
 
4 Unclip cable duct with electrical line from frame of cover (4)    
5 Disconnect electrical connector at steering column tube module control unit (N80) Separate/connect electrical connector at steering column switch module AR54.25-P-2802-02GW 
    IMPORTANT The locking clip for the electrical connector is destroyed here and it has to be replaced.  
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Perform initialization of DTR control unit with STAR DIAGNOSIS    
  Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory IMPORTANT Initialization of the DTR control unit must only be carried out after the steering column tube module control unit (N80) has been replaced.
