A differentiation is made between the following during the processing of seam seals:
- smoothing/wiping (A)
- sealing/spreading (B)
Area of front-end assembly, A-pillar, longitudinal member, rear fender and side roof paneling, shown on model 238.3 on left side of vehicle
Area of rear fender, shown on model 238.4 on left side of vehicle
Area of inner A-pillar, shown on model 238.3 on left side of vehicle
Area of underbody and wheel well, shown on model 238.3
- Seal connecting flange spot welds and riveted joints of repaired area with seam sealing material.
Observe standard sealing.
Seal only primed body parts.
Do not seal thread of weld nuts and threaded pins as well as drain openings and contact surfaces of axle attachments washers or detachable parts with seam sealant material.
Seal accessible spot weld flanges on both sides.
- Insert stop plugs and rubber grommets with seam sealant material.
