Install Rear Fender Complete - Ar63.50-P-1401-03LWO

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Install rear fender (1) and fit.
- Install trunk lid.
- Install rear bumper.
- Install taillamp.
- Install door seal.
- Install striker eye.
- Check and adjust gap dimensions.
- Fix rear fender (1) in place.
- Remove striker eye.
- Remove door seal.
- Remove taillamp.
- Remove rear bumper.
- Remove trunk lid.
- Drill rivet holes in rear fender (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas A, A1 and B).
Drill rivet holes through existing holes in body (area B).
- Countersink rivet holes (areas A1 and B).
- Drill rivet holes in rear fender (1) with Ø 5.1 mm bit (area A2 ).
- Remove rear fender (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on rear fender (1) and body on both sides.
- Coat insides of rivet connection with zinc dust paint (area A1
).
- Apply sealant to foam part and outer rear wheel well (areas C).
- Apply 2-component adhesive (body) to body in crosshatched areas (areas D and E).
Apply 2-component adhesive (body) to inside (area E).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Apply 2-component adhesive (Betaforce 2850L) t body in crosshatched areas (areas F).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install rear fender (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet rear fender (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (area G).
Clamping range 3.4 mm to 3.6 mm.
- Rivet rear fender (1) with Ø 6.4x14.0 countersunk-head rivets (area H).
Clamping range 2.3 mm to 2.5 mm.
- Rivet rear fender (1) with Ø 4, 8x8 rivets (area I).
Clamping range 1.5 mm.
- Rear fender (1)
(areas J).
- Rear fender (1)
(areas K).
- Rear fender (1)
(areas L).
Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas welds down flat (areas L).
- Solder surfaces on rear fender (1) with body solder and smooth (areas L).
Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.
- Remove solder residues or grinding dust.
