The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. This must be similarly performed for damage to the right side of the vehicle.
The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Mark separating point on B-pillar (1) and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply. The component parts located underneath will otherwise be damaged and the strength affected.
Dimensions:
a = approx. 70 mm
- Expose MIG solder seams on B-pillar (1) and cut (area B).
- Expose spot welds on B-pillar (1) and cut off (areas C).

- Expose spot welds on B-pillar (1) and cut off (area D).

- Expose MIG solder seams on crossmember reinforcement (2) and cut (area G).
- Remove crossmember reinforcement (2).

- Expose MIG solder seams on support (3) and cut (areas H1 ).
- Remove support (3).
- Expose MIG solder seams on B-pillar (1) and cut (area I).

- Heat B-pillar (1) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Heat B-pillar (1) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove B-pillar (1).

- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and chips from drilling.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas K).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
