The following repair materials and special tools must be used:
- Zinc dust paint
Spacers
- Insert spacer blocks at undamaged side between center roof paneling (1) and side roof paneling and adjust to dimension.
When installing the center roof paneling (1) can be fitted with the adjusted spacer blocks.
- Mark positions on vehicle and write down dimensions of spacer blocks.
- Determine dimensions from outer edge of center roof paneling (1) to outer edge of side roof paneling.
- Mark positions of measuring points on vehicle and note dimensions.
- Expose spot welds on center roof paneling (1) and cut out (areas A).
- Cut bondings of center roof paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas with cutting wire (areas B).
- Heat center roof paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas (areas C).
Do not exceed a temperature of 120 °C.
Otherwise the structure of the adhesive areas below can change.
- Remove center roof paneling (1).
- Remove residual adhesive material from body (areas D).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Coat damaged points with primer.
- Grinds mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas (areas E and F).
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas F).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
