The following repair materials and special tools must be used:
- Zinc dust paint
Spacers
- Insert spacer blocks at undamaged side between roof paneling rear section (1) and side roof paneling and adjust dimension.
When installing roof paneling rear section (1) can be fitted with adjusted spacer blocks.
- Mark positions on vehicle and write down dimensions of spacer blocks.
- Determine dimensions from outer edge or roof paneling rear section (1) to side roof paneling outer section.
- Mark positions of measuring points on vehicle and note dimensions.
- Expose spot welds on roof paneling rear section (1) and cut out (areas A).
- Cut bondings of roof paneling rear section (1) in cross-hatched areas with cutting wire (areas B).
- Heat roof paneling rear section (1) in crosshatched areas (areas C).
Do not exceed a temperature of 120 °C.
Otherwise the structure of the adhesive areas below can change.
- Remove roof paneling rear section (1).
- Remove residual adhesive material from body (areas D).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Coat damaged points with primer.
- Grinds mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas (areas E and F).
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas F).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
