The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
Connection scheme
- Install individual contacts of electrical lines of touchpad wiring harness (13) as well as the individual brown line (BN1
) into white 10-pin connector socket (13.1).
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 1 = brown line (BN1 )
Contact cavity 3 = red/gray line (RD/GY)
Contact cavity 8 = black/white line (BK/WH)
Contact cavity 9 = black line (BK)
Contact cavity 10 = brown line (BN)
- Route brown line (BN1) to the left center console ground point (W12) and connect
.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) of touchpad wiring harness (13), as shown, along existing lines into front passenger footwell.
Fix touchpad wiring harness (13) in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses.
- Route brown line (BN) to electromagnetic compatibility ground point (Touchpad) (W91) and connect
.
- Route twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) along existing lines at left to the head unit end sleeve CAN (Low) (Z35/34z1) and head unit end sleeve CAN (High) (Z35/33z1).
The head unit end sleeve CAN (Low) (Z35/34z1) and head unit end sleeve CAN (High) (Z35/33z1) have yellow markings.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) to the passenger side A-pillar fuse box (F1/3).
- Install red/gray line (RD/GY) into contact cavity "3" of the electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3).
Contact cavity "3" as well as the electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3) are labeled.
- Solder black line (BK) to head unit end sleeve CAN (Low) (Z35/34z1).
The end sleeve (14), as well as the
adapter and the
reflector are available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplement wiring harness repair kit.
When making the soldering joint
use welding pearl catcher.
- Solder black/white line (BK/WH) to head unit end sleeve CAN (high) (Z35/33z1).
The end sleeve (14), as well as the
adapter and the
reflector are available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplement wiring harness repair kit.
When making the soldering joint
use welding pearl catcher.
- Wrap fabric tape around the end sleeves (14).
