Location
The mobile phone cradle control unit is located under the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) in the instrument panel.
Tasks
The mobile phone cradle control unit is responsible for the following:
- Power supply via circuit 30t and circuit 31
- Reception of the switch-on signal by the head unit (A26/17)
- Charging of mobile phones that support the Qi standard (with code 897 (Wireless mobile phone charging) or with code 899 (Multifunction telephony)):
- Inductive charging of the mobile phone with simultaneous cooling
- Reception of charge level from the mobile phone via the capacitive coupling
- Transmitting the charge level of the mobile phone via the telematics CAN (CAN A) to the head unit
- Antenna connection (with code 899 (Multifunction telephony)):
- Data exchange of telephone and Internet signals with the mobile telephone network via the mobile radio antenna amplifier/compensator (A28/15), the telephone antenna splitter (A2/109), the left telephone antenna (A2/102) and the right telephone antenna (A2/103)
- Data exchange of telephone and Internet signals with the mobile phone via a capacitive coupling
- Data exchange with the head unit via the telematics CAN and the integrated NFC interface (Near Field Communication) or Near Field Communication antenna (A2/156) with the NFC interface of the mobile phone for a simpler mobile phone connection (input, output)
- Reception of a key code for drive authorization via the capacitive coupling from the mobile phone and forwarding of code via the telematics CAN (CAN A) to the head unit (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone)) (input, output)
