Partially Install Inner Side Wall With Outer Rear Wheelhouse And Weld In - Ar63.10-P-6050-03LWA

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. This must be similarly performed for damage to the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Install and fit inner side wall (1).
  2. Install and fit rear fender with portal frame SPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL .
  3. Fix in place inner side wall (1).
  4. Remove portal frame and rear fender.
  5. Drill rivet hole in inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area A).
  6. Remove inner side wall (1).
  7. Deburr rivet holes on inner side wall (1) and body on both sides.
  8. Remove chips from drilling.
  9. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  10. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

    IMPORTANT Apply 2-component adhesive on inside (area B).

  11. Install inner side wall (1) and fix in place.
  12. Rivet inner side wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.4x12 (area C).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range is 2.6 mm.

  13. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELDSPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL (area D).
  14. Inner side wall (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area E).

    IMPORTANT Reduce heat distortion by performing the inert gas welding at intervals and allowing the welding areas to cool down in between.

  15. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area F).
  16. Bend down sheet metal lugs (arrows).

  17. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area G).
  18. Inner side wall (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area H).

    IMPORTANT Reduce heat distortion by performing the inert gas welding at intervals and allowing the welding areas to cool down in between.

  19. Clean weld joints no longer accessible after installing rear fender and coat with zinc dust paint.

  20. Install, fit and fix in place strut (2) with portal frame.
  21. Drill rivet holes in strut (2) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area I).
  22. Remove strut (2).
  23. Deburr rivet holes on strut (2) and body on both sides.
  24. Remove chips from drilling.
  25. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  26. Install, fit and fix in place strut (2) with portal frame.
  27. Rivet strut (2) with rivet Ø 6.4x12 (area J).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.5 mm

  28. Strut (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area K).
  29. Remove portal frame.
  30. Coat weld joints that can no longer be accessed after installation of beltline reinforcement and rear fender and coat with zinc dust paint.
