Check Low-Temperature Circuit For Leaktightness - AR09.41-P-1011MND

  Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove     
1 Unscrew cap on expansion reservoir (1)    
INSPECT Check     
2 Check coolant level and antifreeze content of coolant in low-temperature circuit and correct if necessary FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02BA 
3 Screw tester cap (2) on expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
4 Connect pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
5 Apply compressed air to low-temperature circuit for 2 minutes at the test pressure NOTES Do not exceed the specified test pressure.
Damage can occur otherwise on the lowtemperature circuit.
IMPORTANT There should be no pressure loss within a period of 2 minutes.

6 Perform a visual inspection on the assembly parts carrying coolant In the event of pressure loss.
IMPORTANT Check condition and coolant loss for all assembly parts carrying coolant and connections and remove coolant loss if necessary using suitable measures.
 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Actuate pressure relief button on pressure pump (3) and relieve the pressure SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
8 Unscrew tester cap (2) at the expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
9 Check coolant level and antifreeze content Coolant If necessary.

10 Screw cap onto expansion reservoir (1)    
RADIATOR OR EXPANSION RESERVOIR CAP
