Separate A-Pillar Outer Section - Ar63.20-P-1102-01LWE

Model 213 

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way in the event of damage on the right side of the vehicle.

Further information can be found in the superordinate service information.

The safety information in the superordinate service information must be observed.

  1. Mark separating point on A-pillar paneling (5) and cut (areas A and B).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a = approx. 56 mm

    b = approx. 30 mm

  2. Expose spot welds on A-pillar paneling (5) and cut out (areas C).

    IMPORTANT Cut out joint spot welds of the A-pillar paneling (5) and A-pillar reinforcement (6) through two panel thicknesses.

  3. Heat A-pillar paneling (5) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  4. Remove A-pillar paneling (5).

  5. Expose spot welds on the A-pillar reinforcement (6) and cut out (areas C and E).
  6. Expose spot weld on the A-pillar reinforcement (6) and drill through with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area F).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas C).

  7. Heat A-pillar reinforcement (6) in cross-hatched areas.
  8. Remove A-pillar reinforcement (6).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
