- Mark separating points on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut (areas A).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
a = approx. 25 mm

- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (areas B).
- Heat outer rear wheel well (1) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove outer rear wheel well (1).

- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area C).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
