Remove Inner C-Pillar Side Wall - Ar63.10-P-0700-01LWE

Model 213.0 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separating point on C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area A).

    NOTES Do not cut too deeply.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a1 = approx. 40 mm a2 = approx. 60 mm

  2. Expose laser seams on C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area B).
  3. Expose and cut out spot welds on C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) (areas C and E).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds from inside (areas E).

  4. Expose spot weld on C-pillar side wall (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm (area D).
  5. Heat C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Crosshatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  6. Remove C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2).

  7. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
