Prepare Complete Rear Fender For Installation - Ar63.50-P-1401-02LWT

Model 213.2 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separating points on rear fender (1) and cut (areas A, B and C).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation points from vehicle.

  2. Cut out spot welds on lock striker bracket (2) (area C).

    Only if C-pillar is not replaced.

  3. Drill out spot welds on lock striker bracket (2) with Ø 6.5 mm (area D).

    Only if C-pillar is not replaced.

  4. Remove lock striker bracket (2).

    Only if C-pillar is not replaced.

  5. Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down flat.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  6. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  7. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust (areas F).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.

  8. Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  9. Remove grinding dust.
  10. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
