The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 222 and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage.

1. Mark separating point on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut (area A).

   Do not cut too deeply.

   Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

   Dimensions: 

   a = approx. 20 mm

   Model 213

   Cut along embossment.

2. Separate adhesive bead between the rear outer wheel well (1) and the rear fender (area B).

   The rear fender is bonded to the outer rear wheel well (1).

3. Expose spot weld on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area C).

   Model 222

   Heat outer rear wheel well (1) in crosshatched area with heat gun (area E).

   Cross-hatched area is bonded.

5. Heat outer rear wheel well (1) in crosshatched area with heat gun (area F).

   Cross-hatched area is bonded.

6. Remove outer rear wheel well section (1).

7. Remove glue residues from fender (area D).

   The height of the remaining adhesive should be max. 2 mm. Remove loose adhesive material.

8. Repair bare parts with primer stick (area D).
9. Grind mating surface down to bare metal in cross-hatched area on both sides.
10. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
11. Apply zinc dust paint to inside of spot weld flange.
