Install Firewall Half - Ar62.25-P-1110-05LWE

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 213 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

  1. Install firewall (3), fit and fix in place.
  2. Drill rivet holes in firewall (3) with 6.7 mm bit (area A).

  3. Drill rivet holes in firewall (3) with 6.7 mm bit (areas B1 , B2 , and B3 ).

    IMPORTANT Drill rivet holes through present holes in body (areas B2 and B3 ).

  4. Remove drilling chips.
  5. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
  6. Remove firewall (3).
  7. Deburr rivet holes on firewall (3) and body on both sides.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas B1 and B2 ).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

  8. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  10. Install firewall (3) and fix in place.
  11. Rivet firewall with (3) 0 6.4x12 rivet (areas A1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 1.4 mm to 1.8 mm.

  12. Rivet firewall (3) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (areas A2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.5 mm to 3.3 mm.

  13. Rivet firewall (3) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area A3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 4 mm.

  14. Rivet firewall (3) with 6.4x12 rivets (area C1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 1.4 mm to 2.2 mm.

  15. Rivet firewall (3) with 6.4x12 rivets (area C3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.5 mm to 2.9 mm.

  16. Rivet firewall (3) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area C4 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 4 mm to 4.6 mm.

  17. Rivet firewall (3) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area C5 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.2 mm.

  18. Firewall (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (area C2 ).
  19. Firewall (3) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas C6 and C7 ).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between.

    This reduces heat distortion.

  20. Install firewall crossmember (5), fit and fix in place.
  21. Drill rivet holes in firewall crossmember (5) with 6.7 mm bit (area D).
  22. Drill rivet holes on firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.7 mm bit (areas D1 ).
  23. Remove firewall crossmember (5).
  24. Deburr rivet holes on firewall crossmember (5) and deburr body on both sides.
  25. Remove drilling chips.
  26. Coat insides of riveted joints in areas not bonded with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

  27. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  28. Apply sealant in area of foam part.

  29. Install firewall crossmember (5) and fix in place.
  30. Rive firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (areas F1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.4 mm to 3.2 mm.

  31. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with 6.5x12.5 mm rivets (area F2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 4 mm.

  32. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (area F3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.3 mm to 2.4 mm.

  33. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.4x12 mm rivet (areas F4 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 1.6 mm to 2.1 mm.

  34. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.4 rivet (area F5 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 7.7 mm.

  35. Firewall crossmember (5) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area E).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between.

  36. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area G-,).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.3 mm to 3.4 mm.

  37. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (area G2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.2 mm to 2.5 mm.

  38. Rivet firewall crossmember (5) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area G3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 4.1 mm to 4.5 mm.

  39. Firewall crossmember (5) IMPORTANT (area H).

  40. Install wheel well (1), fit with straightening tools and fix in place.
  41. Install crossmember (2) and fit and fix in place.
  42. Drill rivet holes in wheel well (1) with 6.7 mm bit (areas I1 and I2 ).

    IMPORTANT Drill rivet holes through present holes in body (area I2 ).

  43. Drill rivet holes in crossmember (2) with 6.7 mm bit (area J).
  44. Remove crossmember (2).

  45. Drill rivet holes on firewall (3) with ø 6.7 mm bit (areas K and K1 ).

    IMPORTANT Drill rivet holes through present holes in body (area K).

  46. Drill rivet holes on wheel well (1) with ø 6.7 mm bit (area L).
  47. Remove wheel well (1) and straightening tools.
  48. Deburr rivet holes on wheel well (1), crossmember and body on both sides.
  49. Remove drilling chips.
  50. Coat insides of riveted joints in areas not bonded with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

  52. Install wheel well (1) with straightening tools and fix in place.
  53. Rivet wheel well (1) with 6.5x14.5 rivets (area M1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 5.2 mm to 5.5 mm.

  54. Rivet wheel well (1) with 6.4x12 rivets (area M2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.6 mm to 2.8 mm.

  55. Rivet wheel well (1) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area M3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.6 mm to 4.7 mm.

  56. Rivet wheel well (1) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area M4 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.5 mm.

  57. Rivet wheel well (1) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area N1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.3 mm to 3.8 mm.

  58. Wheel well (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (area N).

  59. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

  60. Install crossmember (2) and fix in place.
  61. Rivet crossmember (2) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area P1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.9 mm to 4.7 mm.

  62. Rivet crossmember (2) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area P2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.5 mm to 3.4 mm.

  63. Rivet crossmember (2) with 6.5x14.5 rivets (area P3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 5.6 mm to 6 mm.

  64. Crossmember (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (area O).

  65. Transfer position for rivet hole on pedal bowl (4) from old part and offset to dimension (q2 ) (area Q2 ).

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    Q2 = 8 mm

  66. Install pedal assembly cup (4), fit and fix in place.
  67. Drill rivet holes in pedal bowl (4) with 6.7 mm bit (areas Q2 and Q3 ).
  68. Drill rivet hole on pedal bowl (4) with ø 6.7 mm (area Q

    IMPORTANT The interspace for riveting is not sufficient, for this reason drill through firewall behind in area (Q1 ).

  69. Remove pedal assembly cup (4).
  70. Drill hole in firewall (3) with ø 10 mm.
  71. Deburr rivet holes on pedal assembly cup (4) and body on both sides.
  72. Remove drilling chips.
  73. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  74. Install pedal assembly cup (4) and fix in place.
  75. Rivet pedal bowl (4) with 6.4x12 rivets (area R1 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.2 mm.

  76. Rivet pedal bowl (4) with 6.5x12.5 rivets (area R2 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.3 mm to 3.4 mm.

  77. Rivet pedal bowl (4) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area R3 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 4.9 mm to 5.3 mm.

  78. Rivet pedal bowl (4) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area R4 ).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.6 mm to 4.3 mm.

  79. Close hole in firewall with sealant.
