	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
	Remove
1	Mark installation position of the Rear door (1) relative to the Rear fender and rocker panel with adhesive strip (10).
2	Open Front door and Rear door (1).
3	Fully lower side window of Rear door (1).
4	Adjust Front seat toward the Front to end position.
5	Release top trim (7).	Do not remove belt end fitting.	AR68.30-P-4700LW
6	Remove bottom paneling (8).	When removing lower hinge (3).	AR68.30-P-4700LW
7	Remove seat belt retractor (9) or Front left reversible emergency tensioning retractor (A76) or Front right reversible emergency tensioning retractor (A76/1).	When removing lower hinge (3).
			AR91.40-P-1010LW
		Do not disconnect electrical connectors.
8.1	Remove cover cap and remove grub screw (2.3) by three revolutions.	When removing upper hinge (2).
8.2	Remove grub screw (3.3) by three revolutions.	When removing lower hinge (3).
9	Close Rear door (1).
10	Mark installation position of the B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2 and 3.2) and installation position of the hinge leaf Rear door (2.1 and 3.1) (arrows B).
11	Remove screws (11 or 12).	Always replace upper hinge (2) and lower hinge (3) only separately. Otherwise the Rear door (1) as well as other vehicle parts can be damaged.
12	Unscrew nuts (4 or 5).	Always replace upper hinge (2) and lower hinge (3) only separately. Otherwise the Rear door (1) as well as other vehicle parts can be damaged.
13.1	Release B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2), remove Rear door hinge leaf (2.1), and remove B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2).	When removing upper hinge (2).
		To remove Rear door hinge leaf (2.1), fold up upper hinge (2) to disengage arrest (arrow A).
13.2	Release B-pillar hinge leaf (3.2), remove Rear door hinge leaf (3.1), and remove B-pillar hinge leaf (3.2).	When removing lower hinge (3).
14	Remove seal (13 or 14) from B-pillar (6) and clean B-pillar (6) in this area.	Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
15	Insert B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2) with seal (13).	When installing upper hinge (2).
16	Insert Rear door hinge leaf (2.1) into B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2).	When installing upper hinge (2).
		To remove Rear door hinge leaf (2.1), fold up upper hinge (2) to disengage arrest (arrow A).
17	Screw in screws (11) all the way.	When installing upper hinge (2).
18	Screw on nuts (4) all the way.	When installing upper hinge (2).
19	Align Rear door hinge leaf (2.1) based on the markings (arrow B) and tighten screws (11).	When installing upper hinge (2).
		Screw/bolt, hinge to Rear door	*BA72.12-P-1001-01R
20	Correct installation position of Rear door (1) based on the adhesive strips (10) and tighten nuts (4).	When installing upper hinge (2).
		Aid of helper required. During tightening, press Rear door hinge leaf (2.1) and B-pillar hinge leaf (2.2) together.
		Nut, hinge to B-pillar	*BA72.12-P-1002-01R
21	Insert B-pillar hinge leaf (3.2) with seal (14).	When installing lower hinge (3).
22	Insert Rear door hinge leaf (3.1) into B-pillar hinge leaf (3.2).	When installing lower hinge (3).
23	Screw in screws (12) all the way.	When installing lower hinge (3).
24	Screw on nuts (5) all the way.	When installing lower hinge (3).
25	Align Rear door hinge leaf (3.1) based on the markings (arrow B) and tighten screws (12).	When installing lower hinge (3). Screw/bolt, hinge to Rear door

26	Correct installation position of Rear door (1) based on the adhesive strips (10) and tighten nuts (5).	When installing lower hinge (3).
		Aid of helper required. It is necessary to press the Rear door hinge leaf (3.1) and B-pillar hinge leaf (3.2) together while tightening.
		Nut, hinge to B-pillar	*BA72.12-P-1002-01R
	Check
27	Open Rear door (1) and close again.
28	Check gap dimensions on Rear door (1), adjust		AR72.12-P-0650LW
	Install
29	Repair paint damage at respective bolt heads.
30	Protect Rear door (1) or B-pillar (6) in area of top hinge (2) and bottom hinge (3) against corrosion.	Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can)	*BR00.45-Z-1018-05A
31	Tighten grub screw (2.3 or 3.3).	Grub screw for hinge separation	*BA72.10-P-1003-01W
32	Repair paint damage on grub screws (2.3 or 3.3).
33	Install cover cap of the grub screw (2.3).	When installing upper hinge (2).
34	Install seat belt retractor (9) or Front left reversible emergency tensioning retractor (A76) or Front right reversible emergency tensioning retractor (A76/1).	When installing lower hinge (3).	AR91.40-P-1010LW
35	Install bottom paneling (8).	When installing lower hinge (3).	AR68.30-P-4700LW
36	Fasten top paneling (7).		AR68.30-P-4700LW
