Partially Remove Side Longitudinal Member Paneling - Ar63.30-P-1040-01LWE

Model 213 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separating points on longitudinal member paneling (1) and cut according to damage (areas A and B), (areas A, C and D) or (areas B, C and D).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANT Transfer separating points from replacement part (areas A and C).

    IMPORTANT Model 213.0/1

    Dimensions: 

    b = 30 mm

    d = 30 mm

    IMPORTANT Model 213.2

    Dimensions: 

    b = 30 mm

    d = 70 mm

  2. Expose spot welds on longitudinal member paneling (1) and cut out (areas E).
  3. Heat longitudinal member paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  4. Remove longitudinal member paneling (1).

  5. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  6. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  7. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
