| 2.1 | Cut out housing (1) of lamp unit along imprinted broken line using the hot knife. | If the cap is not installed. | |
| 000 588 03 84 00 Hot knife | Carefully cut out the housing (1). Otherwise, the component parts in the housing (1) may be damaged. |

| 2.2 | Remove bolts from cap. | If the cap is installed. | |
| 3 | Remove section of housing (1) or cap far enough until the lamp unit fan motor 1 (E1m4, E2m4) is accessible. | ||
| 4 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) from lamp unit fan motor 1 (E1m4, E2m4). | ||
| 5 | Unclip electrical wiring harness (3) (arrow A). | Fig 2 | |
| 6 | Release cover (4) from catch hook (arrows B), remove it then remove the lamp unit fan motor 1 (E1m4, E2m4). | ||

| 7 | Insert lamp unit fan motor 1 (E1m4, E2m4) into cap and install the cover (4). | Make sure that the cover (4) latches properly into place. Otherwise, the lamp unit fan motor 1 (E1m4, E2m4) may be damaged. |

| 8 | Clip electrical wiring harness (3) onto cap (arrow A). | ||
| 9 | Connect electrical connector (2) to fan motor 1 of lamp unit (E1m4, E2m4). | ||
| 10 | Position and tighten the cap. | ||
