Remove/Install Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler - AR27.55-P-1000MSA

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining Transmission 725.0 in model 290 with engine 256 AR61.20-P-1105FRX
    Transmission 725.0 in model 213, 238 with engine 256 AR61.20-P-1105LWE
    Transmission 725.0 in model 257 with engine 256
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install center and rear lower rear engine compartment paneling again after leak test.

2 Remove oil lines (2, 3) from oil cooler (1) and seal with suitable stop plugs   AR27.10-P-0501-03LF
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
3 Disconnect coolant hoses SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 2
4 Remove coolant hoses from oil cooler (1) and seal connections with protective covers   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 1
5 Remove screws/bolts (4) of oil cooler (1) and remove oil cooler (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil cooler to transmission *BA27.55-P-1018-01D 
6 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
7 Check fluid level in automatic transmission and adjust to correct level   AR27.00-P-0270EWN
8 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness   AR20.00-P-1010MSA
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform engine test run, check oil line s (2, 3) and oil cooler (1) for leak tightness    
10 Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining Transmission 725.0 in model 257 with engine 256 AR61.20-P-1105FR
    Transmission 725.0 in model 290 with engine 256 AR61.20-P-1105FRX
    Transmission 725.0 in model 213, 238 with engine 256 AR61.20-P-1105LWE
