CHECK VALUES FOR FUEL HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP

Check whether cylinder 1 is positioned at ignition TDC.
Engine must be set to ignition TDC on cylinder 1. Measurement errors and engine damage will occur otherwise.

The TDC marking on the vibration damper must match with the marking on the crankcase.
Clean contact surface of fuel high-pressure pump on fuel high-pressure pump housing.
Check for absolute cleanliness.

Measurement errors and engine damage will occur otherwise.

Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper. The contact surface will otherwise be damaged.
Measure from contact surface of fuel high-pressure pump to contact surface on roller tappet, write down clearance dimension (E) and compare with specified value.
Move the digital vernier caliper to zero position before starting the measurement.

Measurement errors and engine damage will occur otherwise.
