1. Use pliers (2) to remove valve stem seal (1).
2. Check valve stem for ridging and pitting.

   If ridging is present,

   ↓

   Deburr valve stem.

   If pitting is present,

   ↓

   Replace valve.

3. Fit protective sleeve onto the valve stem.
4. Moisten valve stem seal (1) with engine oil.
5. Install valve stem seal (1) by inserting drift (3) to end stop.
6. Pull off protective sleeve from valve stem.
